Falls are the leading cause of preventable death among older adults, and preventing the first fall cuts future fall risk in half. Yet most families don’t think about fall prevention until after a fall has already happened. This course changes that. You’ll learn how physical health, mental health, cognition, pain, and medication all contribute to fall risk — factors most people never connect to a fall until it’s too late. The course also covers environmental modifications you can make at home and practical prevention strategies you can implement immediately. Built-in activities throughout the course help you assess your loved one’s specific risk factors and take action, not just absorb information.
