“Boomers Booming: How to Thrive After Sixty-Five and Have Good Sex” is Frances’ first book. It was inspired by her journey with her parents during their last three years of life. She watched in amazement as to how the “senior indusrial complex” did their best to ignore her parents and do as little for them as possible. Amazingly, through all of this, her parents, Hal and Charlotte’s zest for life never diminished. In fact, her Mother’s eightieth birthday present from her kids was a parachute experience… guess who jumped with her! Her father’s career as a “doodlebugger” allowed her the unique childhood of growing up throughout the world. She was born in Belem, Brazil and spent her youth traveling with her family to Libya, The Philippines, Colombia, Argentina, Peru and Singapore, where she graduated from High School. After receiving her degree from Texas Christian University, she moved to New Orleans, Louisiana and worked as Director of International Marketing for the Louisiana World Exposition. That once-in-a-lifetime experience encouraged her to move to Miami and pursue a law degree from University of Miami. She is fluent in Spanish and has a working knowledge of Portuguese.

In 2014 Frances began working with elders and their children who were facing life-changing decisions with no knowledge of what is available to them. She was doing that for her parents, why not make a career of it. She advocates for elders and through her law firm defends them against exploitation. She is the managing attorney of her Elder Law Firm which handles, estate planning, Medicaid planning and advocacy. She writes twice monthly columns for the Miami Community News and The Islander News. She has a monthly video blog devoted to Elders. She has interviewed Laurie Jennings, Lois Pope (80+ year old triathalon and biathalon champion) and Emerson Fittipaldi.

Prior to practicing Elder Law, Frances hosted and interviewed Women of Distinction: Margaret Thatcher, Madeline Albright, Cokie Roberts, Jeanne Kirkpatrick, and Gloria Steinem. She is in the Maryland Women’s Hall of Fame for her accomplishments as an attorney and Assistant Secretary of Economic Development for the state of Maryland.
